Inventions and patents
Container welding technology
The tank welding technology invented by Xaver Lipp has set new standards in the field of tank production.
Welded tanks with different diameters and variable heights can be produced directly on site in a short time. In addition to storing bulk materials, they are also ideally suited for the storage of drinking water or foodstuffs up to ethanol or oil.
Making ideas come true
Invention and development of tank welding technology
At the beginning of the seventies, Xaver Lipp developed machines through which containers can be produced on site using a special folding technique.
The inventor was granted several patents and numerous awards for his so-called ‘double fold technology’.
Silo machine – Double folding for metal sheets up to 6 mm thick
Xaver Lipp invented and developed the double folding technology back in the early seventies.
This patented system is based on a worldwide unique and at the same time ingeniously simple technique of tank production. This enables an efficient and cost-effective production of containers’on site’.
Stainless steel LIPP-INOX
Award-winning combination material
With his combination material LIPP-INOX Xaver Lipp had created a groundbreaking invention for tank construction at the beginning of the nineties.
In 2005, he was awarded the Innovation Prize of the State of Baden-Württemberg.
Xaver Lipp – Double folding technology
For almost 50 years, the double folding system has distinguished and proven itself all over the world through high quality and stability as well as sustainability.
Xaver Lipp was granted the patent for this technology in the early 1970s and licensed to partners worldwide. With his invention he has created a unique and at the same time ingeniously simple principle of tank production.
Biogas installations
Xaver Lipp is known as a pioneer in the field of biogas plant construction.
In addition to tank construction with its patented double folding technology, the creator and inventor built the first biogas plants in Germany as long ago as the 1970s. Together with the universities of Munich and Stuttgart, he developed the first small biogas plants in the mid-seventies, which achieved very good results.
Stirring techniques for biogas plants
Since Xaver Lipp applied for and was granted several patents on biogas technology at the beginning of the 1970s, he has been constantly thinking about how the liquid biomass can be optimally stirred and has applied for several patents for his ideas.
Xaver Lipp and his Lipp – ‘Gutter bottom’
In 1961 Xaver Lipp was granted the patent for the invention of the Lipp gutter floor.
He sold more than 30 million of the gutter end pieces and this helped him and his company founded in 1958 to economic success and enabled the inventor to invest in further developments.
