Awards and Recognitions
Xaver Lipp has been a freelance inventor for more than 60 years.
Almost all of his inventions have been patented and are now known worldwide.
The two most important innovations, the double folding system and LIPP-INOX, the special double layer steel material, have also received several awards.
In 1982, the creative genius and inventiveness of the inventor from Eastern Württemberg were honoured with the Rudolf Diesel Medal.
- 1980 a detailed article about Xaver Lipp is published in the Journal ‘Capital’.
- With the invention of the double folding, Xaver Lipp had created a groundbreaking new technology. Since the 1970s, silos and tanks have been produced worldwide using the Lipp double seam technology, for which Xaver Lipp received the Diesel Medal in silver in 1982.
- Xaver Lipp was awarded the XIHU Friendship Prize in Hangzhou on September 18, 1999 by the ministries of the southern Chinese provinces for his many years of cooperation with Chinese partners and for the know-how transfer of his technologies in the field of bulk material and liquid storage to China.
- In 2005 Xaver Lipp received the Innovation Award Ostwürttemberg in the category Patents. The combination material LIPP-INOX that he developed saves stainless steel and thus material costs in the production of tanks and silos.

- In 2006, the inventor received an award in Japan. He had supplied his technology and know-how for the realization of a large biogas plant for the disposal of organic waste to the southern part of Japan.
- Xaver Lipp’s inventive talent is described in the local press in 2009.
- In 2009, Xaver Lipp was named ‘excellent foreign exporter of silos for storing bulk materials’ by the building materials newspaper ‘China Building Materials Daily’.
